“Teela and Cringer” by Deon de Lange

Check out this amazing artwork of Teela and Cringer by comic artist and illustrator Deon de Lange.

I created this artwork of Teela sitting on Cringer as the cover art for my 2015 convention sketchbook. I’ve recently been doing ACEO MOTU art cards in colour with acrylic ink and selling them on Etsy. These have really inspired me to step away form digital art more and more. All of these cards are featured in my sketchbook, so I thought Teela and Cringer would make a great cover for the theme. Of course I’ve been a MOTU fan since childhood and all my MOTU illustrations are inspired more by my Mattel figures than any other versions of the characters. I love doing two characters that interact in a way that shows a different side to them from what is normally seen. This image shows Teela and Cringer’s more playful side and is intended to appeal to male and female fans of the characters. The illustration was drawing and designed directly onto bristol board with pencil, then inked with waterproof Micron pens, and finally colored with FW acrylic inks. The final piece is 9″x12″ and will be for sale on my Etsy shop along with my other MOTU fan art.
